Palm Beach Wetlands

March 25, 2017 @ 2:15 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Space Coast Audubon President, Jeff Lamothe, will lead a  field trip to the Palm Beach Wetlands of Wakodahatchee Wetlands and Green Cay Nature Center in Delray Beach/Boynton Beach on Saturday March 25, 2017. We will meet and leave at 6:15 am sharp from the Cracker Barrel, I-95 (Exit 191) & Wickham Rd. From there we will carpool to Wakodahatchee Wetlands and then to Green Cay Nature Center. Vallarie Brauer from the Audubon Society of the Everglades will be our local guide. I would suggest bringing lunch, drinks, snacks, sunscreen and bug spray (optional). Wear appropriate clothes based on the weather and wear comfortable footwear as we will be walking on elevated wooden boardwalks.  When carpooling, it is customary to provide gas money to the driver to help offset expenses.  While Jeff is planning this adventure as a day trip, in the past some members have made this a weekend event and spent Saturday night in the local area. Spending the night offers you the option to leave later in the day and meet up with the group. Early birding that you miss on Saturday can be done on Sunday. If you are interested in spending the night, let Jeff know as you may be able to car pool with other members also staying over. Please email Jeff at jeff@camplamothe.com or call and leave a message at 321-510-4443 if you will be going so he can have a list of attendees. If folks prefer to meet the group instead of carpooling at Wakodahatchee the address is 13026 Jog Rd, Delray Beach 33446. Address for Green Cay is 12800 Hagen Ranch Rd, Boynton Beach 33437.
