We had a great outing for October Big Day. I personally had 84 species because I also went to Sebastian Inlet and Paradise Park to get some of our beach-loving birds. Unfortunately, there were more beach-loving people, so not as many birds as I had hoped. I did get two lifers – Hairy Woodpecker and Clay-colored Sparrow. David Simpson really worked hard to get us on that Hairy WP. Every time he heard it the bird had flown to a different group of trees, but eventually, we scored and a great view even though it was a long way out.
