This vast park boasts of tranquil green spaces with an array of flowering gardens, wildlife habitats, pavilions and of course a variety of birds including a resident barred owl and Cooper’s hawk. In addition, spring migration is in full swing in late April so we will be looking for warblers moving north as well as the typical wading and diving birds.. Other commonly spotted birds include the cardinal, grackle, red-bellied woodpecker, blue jay, osprey and many more.
We will be carpooling to Winter Park (north side of Orlando) so the meeting place is the parking lot of Cracker Barrel off route 50 in Titusville. The address is 4745 Helen Hauser Blvd, Titusville, FL 32780. The group leave promptly at 8:00 AM. Space Coast Audubon will supply water and snacks. Be sure to bring a lunch for the picnic social. Jim plans to have us back in Titusville around 2PM.
