A team of 16 birders and biologists joined forces today to boost the bird list for October at the Enchanted Forest.  We were lucky to have President Stahl, (our new SCAS President) handle the plant identification, and Alex Robertson (the naturalist at the Enchanted Forest) to talk about spider and snakes and habitat.

Let’s just start with female and male Painted Buntings feeding on the trail in front of us.  Over and over again!  Throw in a Merlin, Cooper’s Hawk, and Ovenbird.  More sharp eyes, more birds!  Here’s the list for just 2 hours.

A special thanks to everyone that joined us today to boost this survey.  Our goal to beat for the month is 44 species.  This really helped.  Matt Heyden
