Social Mixer is from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.  Enjoy a beverage and snacks while chatting it up with your fellow SCAS  members.

The General Meeting starts at 7:30 with an update from the president and then onto our featured program.

The program this month will be given by professional bird guide David Simpson. The topic is birding in birding mecca Dry Tortugas National Park. From their discovery in 1513 by Ponce de Leon, through the visit of naturalist John James Audubon in 1832, to the present, the Dry Tortugas have been known for their amazing richness in migrating land birds and vast seabird colonies.

David is a life long resident of central Florida, where he has been birding for over 25 years. He has over 25 years of experience leading tours, both through his previous job as a ranger at the St. Sebastian Buffer Preserve, as well as at festivals including the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival and the Big “O” Birding festival. In addition to birds, he is familiar with all aspects of Florida wildlife and have an extensive knowledge of native plants, snakes, frogs, and many other critters you encounter in Florida.
He is the current holder of many American Birding Association (ABA) records, including Big Year (both first and second place for Florida) and Big Day (current holder of 10 monthly records in Florida). He is also well known for documenting and sharing his birding adventures.
