Below is the Field Trip Report from Nancy Hirko:

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, twelve (12) birders found their way to the Orlando Wetlands even though some road repairs were being made nearby which prevented all to attend. Trip leaders Mark Wallace and Wayne Archard led the group. It was an overcast day and some experienced rain and rainbows on their way there. The skies threatened for the duration of the trip, but we were treated to a dry event. According to my tracker, we walked about 2.6 miles around the wetlands. The construction of the Visitor’s Center is underway.

A total of 40 species were observed. Notable sightings included a Great Blue Heron wrangling a long legless glass lizard (never knew about legless lizards – photo posted), purple gallinules, several limpkin, two Caspian tern, bald eagle nest and bald eagle nearby.
