The rain and wind brought a good number of migrants down but not a great number of species’
Saw a FOY Rose breasted Grosbeak and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Warblers seen:
- Amer. Redstart (14) most I’ve seen there in one morning – seen in six places.
- Back-throated Blue (9) – many females
- Blackpoll (4)
- Cape May (5)
- Black and White (3)
- Oven bird (3)
- Common Yellowthroat (1)
- No. Parula (5)
The Parula young which I had been hearing at the beginning of the tree house section of the wide boardwalk have hatched and were flying around. Three Peacocks walked through the sanctuary parking lot – probably from close housing developments east of there. Heard only – Great-crested Flycatcher, Downy and Red-bellied Woodpecker. Also saw about seven common species of nonmigrants and many butterflies including both sexes of the less common Julia.
